Jim Cowles - Pookinney Forge

I started blacksmithing about ten years ago. I started poonkinney forge seven years ago and have worked on a variety of projects in that time.

The thing I love about my craft is that it’s a constant learning process. In the past blacksmiths were considered the kings of craftsman because they made the tools to make the tools for all other craftsman. I think that’s so cool!

I like to use found material when ever possible. Recycling rebar into lighting or cabinet hard ware or turning axle’s into hammers or other useful tools.
