Marty Flora

I grew up in Seal Beach, California. I took pottery classes at Truckee Meadows College in Reno, NV.  I have been living in Shelter Cove for 12 yrs.

I belong to a little gallery in Sierra City, California and the Mateel co-op in Garberville.

I've been drawn towards pots with little glaze, and the flashings of wood & smoke firings got both my attention & heart going. It is the way to achieve a surface of depth and richness and create a soft quality.

I've recently taken a class in gyotako, japanese fish printing and really enjoy that as well.
