Where we live, now for the past thirty years, there is no mail delivery, no phone or electrical utilities. To support ourselves in this unusual situation we’ve been forced to learn to make all kinds of things, from the down-home practical utilitarian to forays into the realm of purely aesthetic.
We make our sconces from flat copper sheet formed by hand. The original pierced designs are hand cut with a jewelry saw. Mica goes in the background and a hand forged decorative hanger completes the piece. A secret patina process can be added to the surface to reveal an always one of kind color pattern.
